Thanks for visiting the Rome, Mormon Temple website. This is not an official Church website. The official Church website is www.lds.org.

This website is created by the More Good Foundation, a non-profit whose focus is to provide accurate information about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints online, and to follow Elder Ballard’s counsel to everyday members of the Church to use the New Media to share, in clear terms, the message of the Restoration.

We hope to provide all visitors to our site with an understanding of how we, as ordinary members, view God’s temples–from ancient to modern–and the reasons He has asked us to continue to build temples worldwide. We hope to dispel the myth that Mormons are secretive about temples. On the contrary, we would like everyone to participate in the ordinances and instruction that occur in Houses of the Lord. Entrance, however, has its requirements set by the Lord.

We invite all friends of other faiths to take the opportunity to attend an open house tour, as the temple is completed, so that you can see the interior before it is dedicated, and ask any questions you may have regarding our worship and the Lord’s plan of happiness.
